What Is DNow?
“DNow”stands for Disciple Now. So, a DNow Weekend is a Disciple Now Weekend. In its simplest form, a Disciple
Now Weekend is a weekend retreat for our students.
But there are a few distinctions that make DNow Weekends different from a normal retreat. DNow Weekends are an amazing time where a large portion of our church has the chance to play an important role in our students’ lives.
Components Of A DNow Weekend
Here are a few of the core components that make this weekend such an awesome environment for our students to grow spiritually.
- Discipleship Oriented
- Host Homes
- Small Groups
- Church/Community Focused
- Service Opportunities
- This Year's Study: The Cost
In the Gospels, Jesus tells a series of parables about the cost He pays for us and the cost we pay to follow Him. In this series designed for a weekend event in host homes, you’ll get content for two main sessions and four small group conversations. Each of these sessions and conversations are designed to help students examine the costliness of both grace and discipleship as you share two big ideas: for you, God would pay any cost and following Jesus comes with a cost.
Be Strong Guys Weekend
This will be a weekend with straight talk. We will talk about being a man of God. How to face and overcome temptations that are specific to guys. We will have a lot of fun with a bon-fire and other outdoor stuff. We will come together with a few other churches and worship and study the Bible.
- Children’s ministry such as backyard Bible clubs, VBS, playing ball, etc…
- Light construction & painting
- Serving families in a Nicaraguan low income village. Snack bags & playing with children there.
- Landscaping and work on church grounds.
- Drama in a local teenage theater.
- As we are working we must remember that the people are why we are there. We will spend much of our time just loving on people!
The cost of the trip is $1000. A $250 non-refundable deposit due now and you can sign up until April 1 or space is full.
Hydrate Summer Camp
This is going to be a week we will remember for the rest of our lives. I pray you will take every advantage to get to know God better than you do now. Our week will be filled with lots of extreme recreation: paintball, high ropes, low ropes, rock climbing wall, lakeside activities, super sized slip-n-slide and much more, but the purpose of Super Summer is for you to know God better. This week will prepare you for a life of ministry. You will be prepared to defend Christianity and represent Jesus well on your campus and to your friends.
Cost: $300 with your $100 deposit due now. You can sign up till space is full!
